The band plays a variety of music formats, including Jazz, Rock, Funk and Blues. The main act draws on elements of traditional american blues & jazz but is uniquely our own. We prefer not to play classic rock gigs but do a great job when the need arises. We like to fill our calendar with cocktail style jazz events and have a horn section on call those events that prefer a bigger sound.Lately they've been listening to and playing Charlie Parker and Professor Longhair tunes. Go Figure.

The Dr Awkward band has a simple mission; serve the public good music, have fun, reverse global warming, and take over the world. "After all", Dr Awkward says, "why else would anybody want to play music?". The band frequently plays for free at their private studio located in Portland, OR. For a fee the band will play at alternate locations. Reserved for ads
